Power Fold Mirror Bumps Off Stop

Had to disable autofold on the mirrors.
Started randomly, the mirror opens fine, but when folding, auto or manual, it bounces off the inner stop & doesn't stop until you either put a hand on it to force it, or unfold them.

Can the fold motor be replaced, or is this a full mirror replacement?

Is it happening with both mirrors? If so, then I doubt it is a problem with the motors.

Just the DS mirror. It folds then bounces off the 'stop' once folded. Does not do it when unfolding.

It seems like it needs to be reset. I thought I had read where it could be done by either folding it manually, then using the power button to unfold it or unfolding it manually, then power folding it. Like I said I thought I read that in a post but can't be sure. Doing an Internet search on the issue did not bring up that procedure. I did try manually folding and unfolding. Manual fold & power unfold. Neither made any difference.

Thanks for the reply. Not sure what else to recommend except for possibly a negative battery cable disconnect to see if that would help. Just remember that you'll probably lose some saved memory settings. It would seem that no one else has any ideas either. Good luck.
