I have a 93 2wd Explorer. The passenger side power has just stopped working. The driver side has done this once but it just statrted again and has not been a problem since. The window is in the down position.......Anyone have any advice?????????

Your regulator is probably shot... there are a number of threads on DIY repair of these window regulator units, if you do a search you can find them. In short you have to take the door apart (eg remove the panel), remove the motor from the window asssembly, take it apart and replace 3 little rounding nylon buttons and put it all back together and reinstall. It's a few hour job the first time you do it.

Search grasshopper, and you shall find, complete with pictures.

That happened to me this summer, bought a Haynes Repair Manual for $20 CDN. Wonderful, the manual describes step by step ( and with photos ) how to tear down the door panel, handle, etc. Really worth the money for the non mechanics like me. And yes the problem was the regulator, called scrap yard nearby home and got a regulator and motor for $50.
By the way do not do like me ( yes... all of you pro's out ther you can laugh...).
I tried to pull on the stuck window to get it up... with pliers! Cost me another trip and $50 to the scrap yard for a window while raining like hell! ( of course ). Plus anohter hour to clean up the mess in the door!.

Ah well... my grand mother always said that a man not worth a laugh is worth nothing!. My wife was less impressed though.

Good luck.

If I can join in beating myself up... if I had a $1 for every time I did something stupid (apologies to Mikel, but it was) I could retire early. We're all in this together guys.
