Hi guys.

I have a '98 Ford Explorer XLT, European specification. Yesterday, my power windows stop work. Sunroof still working. I read a many of threads about this problem, but nothing help. I have a power on lighblue/black wire at driver/main switch. But power here is all time, not only when key is on ON position. When i "click" on any windows switch, power from LB/B wire go away. Anybody with solution? Thank's

P.S.: Sorry for my bad english, but it is not my native language.

I'm no electrical guru...and, I know there are others on here that know more about this stuff than I. However, to establish a base of operation, I do know that my '98 XLT will allow the power windows to operate for a short time after turning off the key. After that, the windows cannot be operated. I can only surmise that this has something to do with the Relay (#4) remaining energized for that short period of time before disengaging. I also noted in my manual that this is the same 30 amp Relay that is used for the power moonroof and power seats. If your truck's switch is constantly "hot", I'd say focus on the Relay being stuck in the open position...although, I'm not sure how that causes a disruption of power when you try to activate the switch. Also, raises the question as to why your moonroof functions without problems. Sorry...but, hopefully somebody else will chime in and offer some more detailed assistance.

As for your English proficiency, you're doing just fine. I've heard/read much worse from people born and raised in the U.S. who can't seem to string a sentence together to save their souls.

XLTurnner - The windows work when you turn off the key until you open a door.

OP - Have you checked the 30 AMP fuse in the power distribution box under the hood? I had a short in my driver's door and it kept blowing the 30 AMP fuse. Check your owner's manual to see if there are other fuses or relays related to the power windows.

If the fuse is good, I believe there are 3 relay's located in the area above the gas pedal. IIRC one of them has something to do with the windows. Check your owner's manual.

Another possibility is that the GEM (General Electrical Module) has crapped out. It controls all kind of stuff. If you remove your radio, it's a black box, located behind the radio to the left.

The wire you're finding power at all the time may be the wire for the power door locks. I'd have to check a wiring diagram to know for sure.
