Intermittently, often after the vehicle has been warmed up then stopped, the 4wd lights on the dash will begin flashing (about 6 times, and then flash about 6 times every 3 minutes) and none of the electric windows will operate for a variable amount of time, sometimes a few minutes and sometimes for days. The windows usually work when the vehicle is cold. Also, sometimes you will hear a click from the 4wd selector switch and the windows will begin to work again.

Maybe it just needs a new 4wd selector switch.

Does anyone have any experience with fixing this gremlin??

thanks

The one thing both of them have in common is the General Electronics Module (GEM). It is located behind the dashboard, inside. There was a TSB about the chafing of wires causing ground problems to the GEM on my '97. It might also apply to your '95. A few people have had problems with the GEM and have had to have it replaced.

Here's a thread about the 4x4 lights flashing

You can do a search and find many other treads on this..

Don't know about the windows, but I'm sure someone else would know..I don't know but It could be related ?

hope this helps..

Welcome to the board. I have to agree with Robert. If you are having problems with several electrical items at once, it is probably the GEM. Best case scenario, it just need a reprogramming. Worst case is replacement - ~$300 if memory serves me.
