Pretty lights on the dash......

Guys and Gals - my '98 Ex came to me without a manual - or pretty much anything else to help me solve a problem....An ominous orange light has come on the display which i think is the engine management light (orange and in the shape of the transmission..) This has only happened recently and VERY shortly after she went to a main dealer to have the Cruise control sorted on Ford's recall
I also own an Alfa Romeo GTV so know all about tempremental electrics and engine management lights coming on and off when you sneeze so is the Ex of similar reputation or is this something I should start panicing about...by the way, she is driving perfectly....

You are right that is the check engine light. It would be wise to get the codes read and then go from there as it could be anything. On here they call that the cel so you can serach after you have the code for possible cures.
