Need a little help on whether I should buy this MAF or not. I have a 1997 X Eddie 5.0 Build date is 01/97. I'm in the process of installing Torque Monster Headers. I have the MSD DIS4, JBA Plugwires, motocraft plugs, Cold air, HYPERTECH Tuned and In the market for a supercharger.

To the Question-should I or shouldn't I purchase this MAF Sensor? (It's a pro-m 70mm tuned to 19lb injectors. Used from a mustang) My truck has 19lb with gt40 and cobra manifold(so I've been told). I can get it for $100.00. Is it worth it?

Would like to thank EVERYONE for all the knowledge, advice, tips and tricks you have place into this forum. It truly is amazing and appreciated.

i think your good to go on your 5.0 with this mod. i'm even thinking of trying it on my sohc since i belive they have 19lbs injectors as well.

Anyone have input?

Some rambling thoughts:

Your Explorer MAF sensor is set up for 19 lb injectors...and the Stang MAF is set up for 19 lb injectors...so...I don't think that's enough information to make an informed decision.

I'm not sure what you would be gaining by using that Mustang MAF--it could well be very close to what you've got. How has it been calibrated? That is the pertinent question. When I got my MAF, they asked me injector size, if I had cold air or not, and if I was normally-aspirated or not.

its a 70mm vs the stock size, i figured that alone would yeild more airflow, i was going to do a filter maf and tb project this summer if i get a bonus. i'll have to pull the stock 4.0 sohc maf and see how it measures up on the inside, i was amazed to see the opening on either end measured up to 85 mm, but it obviously gets smaller in the middle like a venturi.
