There have been several posts about batteries having to be replaced. You can do a 'search' on them to find others.

That's interesting. Our '13 Limited was about a month old and one morning the battery was dead. Called road-side service and he couldn't get it jump started so he towed it to the dealer. The service report when we picked it up said the battery was discharged and they charged it up. Hasn't happened since. I speculate that we might have accidently set the accessory mode "on" as we were getting out of the car the evening before. Dunno fer sure tho.

I don't know if the 'battery saver' program will shut down the accessory mode after 10 minutes or not. I know that the reason for having to leave the engine running while doing the MFT updates is so that the MFT doesn't shut off. It seems odd that a jump start wouldn't work.
When I had mine in to get the Winter wheels put on in October they told me that the battery was good but not fully charged. We speculated that it might be due to me taking many short (5-10 minute) trips and not that often. I bought a trickle charger and hooked it up and the battery was fully charged in 4-5 hours. With all the electronics in the Explorer there is a minimal but constant drain on the battery to maintain memory.

Hi Tkirk54,

Have you visited your dealership so they can take a look? Ford certified techs are going to be in the best position to get to the bottom of this. I also want to get your concern escalated to your regional customer service manager. Send me a PM with your VIN, dealer, daytime phone number, and full name; I'll handle the rest!

Thanks,

Crystal

Thanks Crystal I got it taken care of that same day with limited issues. but I will PM you my concerns.
