Problem fixed. Wow, I was really suprised.....

you want peoples help but your not willing to put fourth the effort to clearly communicate your problem. And you are whining that you didn't receive a wave of information on your problem. I imagine on a medical chart you are trying to be as short and to the point as possible. That does not carry over into everyday life. Did you search at all before and after posting your problem? Or did you just wait for information to be fed to you?

I'm not a member of the pirate website, but from reading other posts on here about their heated debates, this forum sounds pretty mild.

oh man i know. you should see dezertrangers.com. i think half of the threads started turn into an argument hahaha

As for the lazy comment. Isn't it just as lazy to just blow it off after reading one sentence into the post

You were the one who started it by knocking the forum & wanting to know what the deal was.

No it's not lazy not to read your thread. It was lazy for you not to look for the proper forum to post it in. It was lazy for to post one long paragraph like you did. Then you want to cry because you only got one response.

I saw one of the original posts that day. You had covered all the things I would have suggested you try and, therefore, had no constructive reply. You weren't ignored, I just couldn't help, and I suspect that was the case with a lot of people.

Either way, I'm glad you got it back up and running. Can you please share what led you to finally diagnose it as a bad spark plug? That would be more helpful information than a rant at not finding your answers.

I've posted stumpers before, and I've posted ramblers too... It's tough to tell the difference, but I've never gotten huffy over a lack of a response. That's not the way to make friends.

i believe he said that he took each plug out and tested it on a motorcycle. congrats to him on solving the problem.

I just took each one out and tested it on a motorcycle to see if I was getting a spark and finally I got to that one and there it was. Never would have thought.

Let's just start over. My apologies to all of those who's feather I ruffled. I am by no means a whiner and I did not intend to come across that way.

As for the poster that asked how I figured out the problem. I tested each plug on a motorcycle. But I used an old school method to figure out that one cylinder was not firing. This sounds retarded but, I have seen some old guys do it.

I took a long shop vac extension hose and placed one at the top of each cylinder where the plugs are and the other to my ear. This enabled me to figure out that one cylinder was not firing by centralizing the sound. That gave me a pretty good idea of which cylinder was not hitting. It was the back one on the right side. I know it sounds goofy but it works. Having the motorcycle to test each plug was a help for sure.

Maybe if you guys have one of those noises etc. you can't track down this old school mechanic method might work for you.

Welcome to the forum.

I have avoided getting embroiled here... However I may offer some insights on things from the perspective of someone who has been here about 5 years now, is now a forum moderator, and has nearly 9000 posts and a number of threads, Diaries and How to articles.

Ok...Sooo...Someone pops in with a question. It matters not if they have 1 post or 1000, "we" will try and answer their question. WE is this Board - the members, the moderators etc... we all work as a group of enthusiasts.

First - when there is a new Q that comes to my attention...I often I find it necessary to probe the inquiry based on what was written. I assist a lot of folks in diagnosing problems on here and sometimes I am just a little thick on grasping the problem...so often I find myself asking for other or additional info. This does not mean the poster could not write (although some are awful - not you).... maybe I just didn't get my brain wrapped around their problem from MY reading of what they wrote.

Also if someone else beats me to my answer I may or may not repeat the obvious. So ONE correct answer may be all someone gets.

Often the question has been asked a zillion times and it is clear the poster never looked for an answer but just popped in and wants info. I understand that, though it can be frustrating... when a simple search might have gotten them their answer and they simply came online and asked their Q without searching first (yet again for a common answer).

I have answered the same Q's hundreds of times... and continue to do so... and am working to establish FAQ's to help those needing quick answers without much effort in searching. (This was not your situation at all... just a generalized comment).

It also can be frustrating NOT to know the answer to the Q asked, and I hate to chime in just to say "I cannot help"...or "Beats the hell outta me". Hence, often difficult questions tend to go without answer... and eventually if it a post I am aware of I will post SOMETHING so the poster does not think this is a "black hole".

Often the brightest guy on the issue may visit the site once a week so we all wait for BillyJoeBob to show up and answer. (ok ok maybe not BillyJoeBob.)

Sometimes when I ask for more info the poster him or herself is a once a week visitor and *I* have to wait a week to continue to help...

No one is paid here. We are all enthusiasts and volunteers. Our real life and real jobs often get in the way, but sooner or later we are back sharing our knowledge, asking Q's and learning and helping.

[In the "real world" I am a senior lawyer for the California Department of Corrections and specialize in environmental law]

I'm glad we can put all this behind us. This site is a wealth of good folks with a lot of knowledge. Enjoy us and the site. You are welcome here.

Glacier991, thanks for the kind words. I will share as much as I can also.
