I have a 2002 XLT & am having problems with a jerking motion at speeds up to 35 mph; also have had problems with lack of acceleration -- I never know if the car will move after it's stopped without my stomping the gas pedal, and it finally jumps forward, also stalling & shaking on starting that was PCm adjustment & appears fixed. Ford customer service acknowledges the jerking at low speeds, but won't fix it & won't tell me who to contact. Anyone familiar with these problems?

Also, it is impossible to find out any executives' names & contact info on the web or yellow pages online. Who can I contact to get some results?

Thanks,

The dealer acknowledges problem, but won't do anything?............UM, time to find another dealer!

If you are stuck with only one dealer in your area, I would BUG the heck out of them and work my way up the hierarchy until someone will actually help you.

There is no way you should put up with that crap!

What engine is in the truck?

If your dealership tells you that, find another one. If I were you I wouldn't even take it for service there b/c they'll pry f#@k something up. Try to find another place. I've said this in a few other post, find a Lincoln/Mercury dealership, they are a lot better in every way compared to Ford dealers. We only go to the Holman Lincoln/Mercury dealership where I live and they take care of everything, we're also friends with people there so:D .

It is a 4.0 L 6 cylinder. I am meeting Ford's regional engineering rep tomorrow. Unfortunately, the dealer is a combined Ford, Lincoln Mercury. I am documenting the problems and definitely plan to take this further and may need to invoke the Lemon Law. Ford has acknowledged the problem and that it can't be fixed.

Well that sucks. Hopefully you can have something done. I agreeon the Lincoln/Merucry dealers. They are much better than the Ford ones. Plus, we know the owners of the Lincoln dealer too.

Yeh that does suck, that has to be one huge dealership if its a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury combined. I don't know why the Ford dealerships are *****, I know a lot of people who bought a Mountaineer or Explorer from Lincoln/Mercury dealerships because of how much better they are. Hell, sometimes they have paid for things that I should have paid for, can't complain about that;)

Could you give me some reason why you would say this? Just personal experience or have you seen or done some national study on this? I would say that customer satisfaction is very dealer specific not just as easy as saying Lincoln/Mercury dealers are all far superior for service.

Personal Experience, and yes the study they do on all dealerships over the country rates Lincoln/Mercury a lot higher than Ford. And they should, remember Lincoln/Mercury is upscale compared to Ford and their demographic audience is more the older crowd than compared to Fords target audience, and they are selling more expensive/premium cars, the type of people that buy these cars have money and want good service, Lincoln/Mercury has a much higher rate of return buyers than Ford so if they want to keep that advantage they obliously have to be better in every way than a Ford dealer. They have a hell of a lot better service than Ford dealerships, and at least our dealership rarely has ever had a complaint made to them (except for the occasional old lady who doesn't want to wait for them to change the battery:rolleyes: . At least here, the Lincoln/Mercury dealerships are rated right alongside dealers such such as Lexus (JM Lexus which is considered the top in the US for Lexus) for customer satisfaction and service. A lot of other people on here will agree, such as 1995ExplorerXLT above. Our dealership has even paid for my bushings to be replaced, that was sweet.
