2006 Explorer Eddie Bauer
does anybody have the production information for the 2006-2010 explorer?

I was looking to see per year how many vehicles came with navigation.

I really doubt such documentation exists (outside of Ford, anyway)

Here is a thought. Each model year, Ford sends its dealers an ordering guide, showing changes, additions, packaging, what goes with what, etc. In this ordering guide is what Ford expects to make as the retail mix. You (or somebody other than me) just needs to find these guides for the 2006-2010 model years, determine actual vehicle production numbers, make some calculations, and you should come up with a close answer.

Below is the 2014 guide, marked PROPRIETARY nonetheless.

http://www.fordexplorer.org/img/2014-ford-explorer-guide.pdf

In it, you will see page 3 suggests Ford wants 11% of all 2014 Explorers to be base models. Page 5 says 50% will be XLT. 32% will be Limited trucks per page 7, and the remaining 7% of all 2014 Explorers will be sold as Sports per page 10.

Example for your GPS query. Using the 2014 guide, lets say you wanted to know how many 2014 Explorers came with "Rain Sensing Wipers". Zero base models, XLTs, or Sports did, because rain sensing wipers weren't available to those submodels. Could get them on the Limited though. But of all Limiteds, only 26% had the needed Equipment Group #302A or #302B , which include Rain Sensing Wipers. So 26% of 32% of all Explorers have Rain Sensing Wipers. Now all you need to know is the final production number of Explorers and do the math.

Of course, there are tons of variations. Ford also sold the US-built 2006-2010 Explorer in about 20 different countries multiple continents. Your dealer could also custom one-off order you an Explorer with options to the contrary to whats listed. Fleet customers could order differently as well. Mercury and Sport Trac numbers are also to be considered.

I went to cargurus.com and searched for all 2006-2010 Explorers for sale in the US. 1,993 today. Only 69 of them have Nav. So 3.5%. I'd speculate this is consistent with the answer you seek.

Oh, my! Why does everyone have to make life so complicated???!!!;)
