2000 Eddie Bauer V8 awd
Hello everyone,
Anyone may have a recommendation for type of oil for my transfer case and front and rear differentials? 2000 Eddie Bauer V8 AWD 185K miles and unaware if ever got changed, I will apreciate an expert input, Also I have read somewhere that an additive is a must is this applicable to my Eddie Bauer AWD???
Regardas to all from Az.

Tc is Mercon v. If you've got limited slip in the rear then you need the additive. But I run 75-140 in my axles.

Look in your owner manual. If you don't have one, you can get a free pdf from here:

Rear axle on V8 AWD is Limited Slip, should have a metallic tag on it. But, unless you drove trough deep water, or you see it leaking, you shouldn't mess with the rear.
If you need to mess with rear, some 75W-140 come already with additive in them, like 'Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lubricant LS 75W-140'.

The rear differential Requires a synthetic gear lube:thumbsup:

Here is our listing for every fluid for your Explorer.

Amsoil Severe Gear is compatible with most limited-slip differentials. If limited-slip differential chatter occurs, add AMSOIL Slip Lock® friction modifier additive.
