proper place for A/F ratio guage

well I think im going to go and buy another a/f guage. when I had mine before I had it tapped into the #38 wire that is connected to the fire wall under the hood. The guage would look like it would work for about 15 min. then it would go all the way lean and not give anymore readings and throw up the check engine light. I was just wondering if anyone knew what was up with the guage and where is the proper place to hook this up to.

Call Autometer. They seem to know the correct way to hook anything up on any vehicle. Good luck!
