I bought this pyramid 1000 watt 2 channel amp online, and though i know that these amps suck, it has a two year warranty. What are your thoughts on whether i should get a different amp or just use it and use the warranty if necessary?

Do not use it expecting rated output, or any where near it. It will work, but I would get rid of it ASAP and replace it with a better unit.

I have no issue with ppl using w.e they have. Upgrades are always good to keep in mind though.

I have 2000watts RMS and two 15s. Already have ideas running in my head to get a second amp, strap the pair and get two 18s.

ill trade you a paper weight for it.

get ride of pyramid.... if it says 2000 watts on it....its really around 200-300 watts

I agree the Pyramid should not be a permanent setup , I used to have one and it worked great untill i replaced it.

Yeah thanks for the advice. I just bought a hifonics and i think it will be a much better choice in the long run.

good choice, i have the hifonics brutus 1500, and it kicks ASS!!!! i run 3 12" JL w6's at 1 ohm and this amp pushes them to the max, and it looks really cool too!

ill agree, what HiFonics did you get? i havent had any probs yet, and it pushes my 15" Kicker quite well, actually its to much for the sub, and the sub is sure to blow at some time... good luck

a zx6000? does that sound right? anyways, i have two audiobahn subs that i got for real cheap with two year warranties on each, and since each handles about 400RMS, i figured that i wouldnt push them too hard and get a 600rms amp.

The amount of amperage does not blow a speaker of any type. It is the distortion that blows speakers. I have proved it also. An 8ohm rated 10" speaker was rated at 250 watts max. 2000 watts rms later, after 2 hours of continued operation in 99 deg. weather, the speaker was perfectly fine. The only reason that happened was because the amp had less than 0.0001% THD at 2000 watts rms. Distortion is what blows speakers even if its unheard. It is there.
