I have an 02 XLT with 4.6. We had the intake manifold replaced in November. Ran good all winter. The other day the weather warmed quickly and there was a lot of rain and fog. My wife says the engine light came on and it was running rough. Code P0304 came up for a misfire. I swapped the coil with another, cleared the code and took it around the block. It ran just as poorly and the scanner was showing P0304 pending again. I'm about to change the plug to see if that is the problem. I sprayed some PB blaster down the hole last night and left it sitting. Likely wont be able to find time to do the job for a couple more days, but I can hit it again with PB Blaster in the mean time. Are these the 2 piece plugs that break easy? I only tried quickly to remove it and it seemed really tight. It was late and I was in a rush, which is usually a recipe for me to get impatient and really mess things up. So I left it till I have time. Can you pull on them pretty hard without fear of breaking? I have a magnetic plug socket with an extension and a breaker bar so I can get plenty of leverage. Also if this doesn't fix it, what would be the next place to look for problems? The injector? Given the problem coming at the same time as moist weather maybe a wire is split?
