I've noticed that some full center consoles on newer explorers 95 and up that some have the cup holders beside each other and others have the cupholders one infront of the other , any reason for this?

i found a full one for my 92 that i'm going to buy it has the cupholders right beside each other, its out of a limited i think. i just want to make sure it'll fit

thanks
ryan

Check the year you X was made mine was 11/96 and I think I have a 98 guage cluster.

Mine was made in 10/96.... what do you mean the "98 gauge cluster"?.........??

I bought white face gauges for 95-97. The check engin light is on the right panel. Mine is on the left.

Also the pin for the oil press is not on the ones I bought, but I have it.

Looks like my gauges match the 98

I have a 96, mine are infront of eachother, not side by side also.

Ashtray?

My 96 has the cupholders side by side, don't the ones with them in front of each other lack an ashtray?

My 95 has the cup holders one in front of the other.

my 95 are side by side.

The ones with the cupholders in front of one another are really one cupholder and the round hole where the ash tray goes. My 96 has them side by side and my mom's 98 has them in front of one another.

Mine came from a '96 according to the part number, and it's side by side, ashtray right in front of the cupholders.

can anyone figure this mind boggling question out

hmmm, after thinking about it, I think it could be part of a smokers package or something since this also has something to do with the ashtray.

rear controls??? do you have the right thread?

Ya I do...he stated he thinks it is out of a 95+ limited and all limiteds have the high-line console and I think all have rear controls for radio and/or A/C which can optionally be hooked up for functionality. I know he isn't talking about the base model.

I have the 945 package, rear air, radio controls, full console, and cupholders side by side...ashtray in front, unused...

My 95' has the cup holders one in front of the other but my console doesn't go all the way to the dash either.
