Question about My Explorer

Ask away! It's no problem... We all have opinions on what we like. The younger, the more fancy, the older, the more basic... Some of these stereos have screens that pop out... anything you want, it's out there.

Nakamichi makes a few single DIN in-dash changers, and Blaupunkt had some recently. The Nak gear is usually pretty expensive and not the most reliable, but the utmost in sound quality. When it works, it's great :D

That's all I can find now. A few years back, a LOT of companies made multi-disc indash units. I can only find teh Naks, currently. It isn't as expensive as I expected, but this is UNauthorized, aka, no warranty.

Good looking unit. Simple and fairly elegant.

Well i just got this alpine from bestbuy and had them install it.

I didnt have any cds with my when i got it only my ipod and it worked fine. When i got home i grabbed a CD and put it in there. Well, it Souns skipppy sooo bad. It skips and then after like 4 seconds it fades out to nothing. This is a brandnew cd just opend.

Im not sure if it was the installation or the Deck it self but ill have to drive back down there tomorrow after work and have them take a look.

Sucks :/

Sorry to hear that. If you've tested it with more than one CD, I'd be inclined to exchange the unit. I have the CDA-9885 (next model up) and it plays CDs flawlessly. I think you made a good choice buying a single disk unit with an iPod connection. A CD player is good to have, but I believe you'll have less desire for a multi-disk changer once you get used to using your iPod.

It doesnt bother me THAT much that the cd player doesnt work but since i paid 200$ i want somthing that works.

pics...

If i were to go with a single din, could the spare room be used for a cd changer such as a 6 disc or w/e ?

Im not sure what the space is like or if one would even work in the ford.

I looked at crutchfield the other night and i like the fact that you can choose the model and what not of your car but when i did they came up with one radio and it said not compatable.
