They all have the same tranny. I just finished resolving my issues with mine that I had to deal with for a year.
My number one recommendation is to use ALL FORD Parts. the first time I had problems (bad slave) I took it to a place that would do it $200 cheaper than Ford, thru in a new clutch (Luke, not Ford), pressure plate a resurfaced flywheel, and it never shifted smoothly after that. It was really hard to put it in gear and the shifting was rough. this caused my tranny to go out eventually (after 50K miles since the original failure @ about 65K)
From that first repair on, I went through 3 Master cylinders, eight slave cylinders, and 3 Ford delerships and noone could fix it.
Lastly before the last slave change (under warranty) I asked them to throw a new clutch and pressure plate (Ford). This definetly made the pedal feel much softer, but the shifting was still rough.
I figured it had to be that those idiots (and I mean every mechanich out there that touched my clutch ,seriously, they are all retarded) did not know how to bleed the system.
So I found the MityVac site, and they explained a process to bleed hydraulic clutch systems I had never seen before. Ilustrated on this link:
Reverse bleeding process
I used the MityVac vacum pump instead of that shooter.
I followed the procedure twice, put the lid on, pumped the clutch really quick for about 10 seconds, and FINALLY problem resolved.
I hope this helps.
If your pedal is just feeling weird, but your shifting is fine, dont mess with it. There is no adjustment on this system other than adding more fluid to the master cyl. as the clutch wears down.
Oh yeah, you are looking at about $600 from Ford (plus slave if you are replacing it)
Good luck!!
