I tried using the search engine but didn't see what I was looking for.

The plastic of the trunk strikers broke on the truck a loooong time ago. I need to fix it because A LOT of bass is about to go in here (Heavy car audio enthusiast here). Can't I just unscrew them and put new PVC plastic on it, like from Home Depot? What size and length would I need?

Also I need to replace the rear glass latches (Such a CRAPPY design IMO) I have them, but the bass that is in there now shifted the window a bit. When replacing them do I need to take off the gas shocks of the window to do the job? I saw a few vids of 2001+ explorers of this part replacement and they all said to take them off. If I do it one latch at a time will it matter? Or would I need to take them off to shift the window back into place?

Thanks guys!

This is the audio system that will be taken out in the next week or 2, I'll come back and post another threads with build pics and video.

No one?

the stricker plastics can be purchased at a local oreillys or autozone in the help section they are for ford explorers and broncos and cost around $7.25 there are 2 different sizes in the package you use the longer ones the bolts will require a t50 socket to remove. on the rear glass, yes remove the shocks first then replace the latches the window can only shift so much one way or the other and the new hinges should take up and room to straiten them up to where they should be. any more questions just ask i am a master tech for the ford motor company out of oklahoma
