okay i got my Mac intake and I'm perplexed as to where one of the plug/sensors go.
My mac intake only has a place to stick the air vaccum tube but not for this small sensor that sits at the top...?
what do i do w/ it?
people who have a 97 explorer EFI/OHV can really help me out. I just really have no idea. and I did order the 3640 model. which is the application for the 97 ohv.
appreciate it!:o :o :o

okay, now it seems it doesn't even fit.
this sucks.

if you could get a picture we could help you

i have the k&n FIPK, same priciple tho, my little connection piece is just dangling, i didn't really see a point in attaching it back, it just sits there anyways, as long as it's connected you'll be fine....as for your intake not fitting, like Billy said: post a pic!

Well, I had to put the stock one back on. this is for my wife's truck. and we have some errons to do today. I will get a picture sometime later this week.

I don't know if it is the problem or not. but they did not send me the cone like airfilter, instead they sent me the cylinder one.

so it doesn't fit in there because of the *i believe* the switch to the hood so that the light turns on that's right in front of the reseivors. also, hits the finder wall... I was basically wondering if this problem?
Just a big pain in the balls. I might be able to trim the inside of the airfilter so that the airfilter goes completely down on the metal heat shield. If it was able to go completely down, I might just be able to fit it.
I was debating on that though, since I don't know If I got the right parts or not. :(

if you got is from explorer express give them a call and they will get you right they are very easy to work with

Here is a picture of the #3640, with the Pro-M Sensor. The installation of this intake system is the same if you have the Pro-M or a stock MAF. What part of your kit does not fit? It comes with 2 holes. One hole is for the sensor and one hole is for the breather hose. Some Explorers only have one hole. There is a plug provided in your kit if you only require one hole. Let me know if you have questions. I am here to help!
