I saw a post from a guy talking about having a wiggle in his tires that was due to a loose spindle nut.. i have similar problems BUT here's my problem.. when i am driving it sounds like my tires are wiggling.. i know when you're driving it should sound smooth.. but not mine.. my truck sounds like theres something uneven on my front end that has to do with whatever makes my tires turn.. the thing is there is no shaking in my wheel at all, not when driving or stopping.. the wheel is solid and doesn't vibrate or shake.. i can only hear it and feel it somewhat in the pedal.. the only things i can think of are spindle nut being loose, or possibly need to re-grease my bearings.. i just got my front (lower) ball joints replaced and it seemed to remove the noise but weeks later i hear it again but i dont feel it.. anyone have any clue what im talking about or have had similar symptoms that can help me with a quick fix

I'm not sure if thats the problem I have. When I am just driving my front end sounds loud....not smooth and I thought it had something to do with my axle...but a mechanic looked at it and did alot of work to my car before I drove it across country....and it was smooth for a while and now its loud again. I dont seem to have any play in my steering wheel or anything it just sounds loud while im driving...

Both of you might have a problem with a tire. Currently, I have a tire that's experiencing a "cupping" issue. This comes from an improperly balaced tire or a tire that wasn't rotated on a regular basis. Since I could care less about this set of tires (they're being replaced soon), I'm putting up with the noise but I know what the problem is.

One way to determine if you actually have an issue with your front end or an issue wth your tire(s) is to rotate the tires. Remember where you move the supposed "problem" tire and then go for a ride. If the noise remains in the same location (i.e. front end) then this issue is there. If the noise moves with the "problem" tire then the issue is tire related. By process of elimination, you can narrow it down and diagnose the real issue.

Good Luck guys - Dave.

thanks for the info.. i really wondered if i just had a bad tire.. it just doesn't seem like I would the tread is very even for all tires and i recently had an alignment and new joints and everything.. i guess it's always a possibility that i should definitely look into though.. i want to get my bearings repacked to maybe smooth it out a little.. so i'll have them check my tires as well.. thanks for the info
