On a 96 with v8, is fan shroud and fan removal mandatory if you want to pull the radiator, or can the radiator be removed by pushing the shroud back on top of the fan?

its easiest to just take fan and shroud out

I know it would definitely be easier to remove the fan and shroud, but is it even possible to remove the radiator without removing the fan.

with the 4.0l's it is im not sure bout the 5.0's prolley is

The fan and shroud MUST be removed as you need to slide the radiator back (towards the engine) to clear the clips. (trust me, been ther, done that!)

just replaced the rad on my 4.0 ohv engine and i just pushed the shroud back onto the fan and lifted the rad right out .
not sure on the 5.0 engine .a quick look should let you know if this can be done.

I pulled mine out and it made it so much easier...that's on a 5.0 though. Worth the extra time....
