I had a bad temp sending unit, so I swapped out both unit, flushed the coolant system and changed the thermostat. Now I have a leaky radiator and I am getting a thumping sound from the thermostat houseing like the thermostat is opening and closing quickly.

Radiator equals patch, plug or replace I know. But what about the thump? I raised the front end. Filled and refilled with antifreeze until completely full. Don't think I have any air. Heat was on. What causes this? I know Ford has had problems with water pump, but I have not had any until now.

Any ideas?

Air purging. Replace the leaky radiator and once it goes through a few hot/cold cycles your thump should stop.
