radio question

I have a 02 explorer and when you turn the car off the radio stays on. But immediately upon opening a door it goes off. Is this normal?

Yes its normal have on 02'. If you were to sit in the truck with out opening the door the radio and the power window functions will shut dow in about 5 min or until you open the door.

My 03 retains power for everything- radio, sunroof, windows, etc. for about 20 minutes (or until you open a door)with the key removed ...might even be just the front doors, I seem to recall it staying on even if a back door was opened, when I was sitting in the front.

The noisy rear end usually stops as soon as you put it in Park.
