I have a 95 ranger 2 wheel drive 2.3 i drive everyday to save wear on my 99 Ex.
Anyhow today i noticed my ranger wasnt charging just running off the battery. so i shut it off looked at some stuff quick in the dark and restarted it and it was charging. so i took it for a ride. While driving it it stop charging again... i shut it off still moving turned the key on caught it in gear and nothing, but on the 3rd time trying that it was charging. this basic scenario happened about 4 more times tonight on my hour drive to a friends house. Sometimes shutting it off and restarted did nothing... sometimes it did. sometimes on the first try sometimes on the 4th or 5th etc.
im gonna check the basic stuff tomorrow but i was curious???
anyone seen this before? i really dont think its the alternator because when its charging its reading good on the gauge. but after 10 - 30 mins of driving it just stops charging and if i shut it off and catch it in gear or restart it like i said it charges again when it wants.
is my ignition goin bad?
is my energizer wire connection bad?
Has Anyone Ran Into This?!?!
