ranger mazda/perkins trans swap and engine tech data

Does anybody know what manual transmissions can be swapped in to my 83 Ranger Diesel? I want to upgrade to a 5 speed and possibly convert to 4 wheel drive. And I would also like to know where I can get tech data for my engine (ie: journal sizes, bore, etc....).

I believe your engine is either a Toyo Kogo or a Mitsubishi not a Perkins
If you go to "therangerstation.com " and look on the tech page there is some Info that may help

I have the non turbo "Toyo Kogo/Mazda" (licensed from perkins engine # gb 4.135) diesel. Still am looking for same data, "therangerstation.com" has only small portion....Thank you again, Newforce.

I have not heard of the Perkins connection before, Interesting.
I read that the toyota (isuzu) 4cyl of the same vintage is commonly used in refer units .
I wonder if there is a similar crossover here.
