Ok, I got my Explorer this summer and the rear antilock light has always been on, with no codes that my mechanic could find (not a dealership though). So we were out fooling around in the snow today which included some locking the brakes. After a while I noticed that the rear antilock light was out, so I looked out the door while skidding (yes this is tricky) and my rear breaks were locking up. This was expected because I figured the light was telling me the ABS wasn't working. Now tonight after a run to the store I noticed my breaks were locking up easily. So I checked the rear breaks again, and now they aren't locking up, even when hard on the breaks. And there is no ABS noise/rattling. I can't tell if they are working at all, but it doesn't seem like it. I don't care about the RABS, I just want my rear breaks to work. Can I pull a fuse or something to bypass the RABS, and how can I tell if the abs is actually working.
