Noticed gear oil spots on my driveway, checked and it was my rear differential axle seal leaking. The SKF seal from NAPA didn't made it for more than 3 yrs, 2.5 years and shy of 30k miles to be exact. Well this time going for the motorcraft seal which is kind of funny when I went to the dealership because it's been superceded (revised) multiple times (or every year) based on the part number.
Looking for a warm weather next weekend to tackle this job.

Have you made sure the diff vents aren't clogged or crushed?

that's the first thing I checked, it's in perfect shape. I did pull and was able to blow out air easily. was wondering if there's something mechanically wrong with the passenger side since the driver side is still the original. shaft has no groves or wear marks unless the seal wasn't able to withstand the installation (since it doesn't require a protector)
