Some play is normal. I think about .060-.080, in my opinion. The axles are held in by c-clips, not the wheel bearings. If there are no other problems, then I wouldn't worry about it. How many miles on it? Not being there, it is hard to see how much play there is in your video. I would have to jack mine up to see how much play I have. But I changed a seal and the gear oil about a year and a half ago, the c-clips looked good, and the play was noticable.

Thanks for the post. I think the play was a bit more than your spec. but it "felt" normal & same both sides if you know what I mean. 120k easy miles.

As long as not over 1/8" play, I wouldn't be too worried. If you like, I can jack mine up tomorrow and let you know what I have. I know that last year when I had mine out, there was little if any wear on the c-clips or axles. Let me know. You can PM me if you would like.

Sure, if it's not too much trouble. It would be interesting to compare. I really just eyeballed the movement as I did not have a precise way to measure but I can tell it's not more than 1/8 inch.

:)

I'll let you know what I measure tomorrow.

OK, I jacked up the Ex this morning, and in driving condition, I measured .055" on the left side, and .065" on the right side. Keep in mind the brakes installed, park brakes released, just like in your video. So there might be a difference if the brake calipers were removed.

If you have a Limited slip rear end you can end up with some more "normal" play due to the clutches being worn out.

There are a few threads about the end play on here but I don't remember them showing the actual spec. I do remember 1/16th in being considered normal.
