Spooky!
I was reading a thread last week regarding the ABS locking up under certain conditions. After a panic stop this afternoon, I couldn't move - I thought the clutch/transmission had given out. After stalling and restarting it went away.
I was able to create the problem in my driveway, after the ABS kicks in (I can feel the pulses), the brakes remain locked. Shutting off the engine and bringing it back up seemed to clear it. I can't find the thread now.
The 91 Navajo has rear ABS only. If someone remembers the thread or has info, it would be appreciated, everything else works fine, it's been a long time since I did a panic stop.

Thanks, I checked the fluid first, and my brakes are not spongy. That wasn't the right thread, thanks for looking though.
The thread I was reading had something about a design problem that during normal operation the ABS could lock up the brakes. I can't even guarantee now whether it was in this forum or somewhere else.
With what little I know about the RABS, it doesn't seem possible though. It should be dumping pressure not blocking it.
Perhaps it's time to change the fluid According to Haynes regular bleeding is acceptable after changing the RABS valve so I shouldn't have any problem draining and refilling.
