Ok boys got another one... My 02 explorer V8 with the LS rear makes a strange scraping noise from the rear... It has new brakes...starts as soon as you start moving but doesn't seem to change in volume once it starts no matter whether accelerating, cruising or braking. Was curious as to what it could possibly be?

:bang head:

So far i've heard:

No friction modifier in the fluid or fluid change time (has almost 100K on it)

Back brakes have rust between backer and rotor

Rear needs replaced (although it has no symptoms other than noise)

BRING ON THE IDEAS! ;)

Explorer's are known for wheel bearing noises, these noises can vary from a low pitch howl or whine to a grinding scraping awfull screaching noise depending on the failure, also rear axle carrier bearings can fail and create a growl rubbing type noise.

Ok guys SOLVED! My parking brake on my passenger rear wheel was apparently rebuilt at some point and they didn't adjust them properly
