2010 Ford Explorer XLT
hey guys...first post. I have a 2006-2010 Explorer...or rather parts of one.

The struggle I'm having is that the plastic guide sleeves (6L2Z-78610A16-CAC) that the posts slide into have been discontinued by Ford and I haven't been able to find new ones ANYWHERE on the internet. I live out in the country and a salvage yard trip is highly inconvenient, so my hope is that someone here has some knowledge on an alternate part that I can use from another model, or has some leftovers from a project they would be willing to sell me.

For those that care to know...what follows is what I'm doing/why I need these:

Despite Ford being my domestic automaker of choice (89 Taurus SHO, 94 Ranger Splash, two Bronco II's, a full size 85 Bronco, and an F150 Lariat FX4), I ended up holding my nose and buying something from the Chrysler family because Ford didn't make the Bronco during the time period that offers my preferred combination of tech and simplicity - new enough for 4 coil springs and OBD2 but old enough that I can afford it as a 3rd vehicle and it doesn't have complex direction injection, variable timing, and 25 electronic modules to mess with. Unfortunately, my 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (LJ) has no headrests on the rear bench seat, which concerns me from a safety standpoint as my oldest son has outgrown his highbacked booster and will soon transition to backless or no booster at all. His younger brother won't be far behind.

Anyway...These happen to work perfectly because they fold down at the right point to get out of the way when the seat is folded and tumbled forward. And it doesn't hurt that after reupholstering, the design aesthetic matches well enough between the Jeep and the Ford of the same time period. (not my photo but an example of these headrests in a same generation Wrangler)
