2001 Explorer XLT
Hello,

I'm new to the threads, but I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a 2001 Ford Explorer XLT and I need to replace the rear wiper arm. I can get the cover and bolt off, but after that it won't budge off the post. Any ideas on how to get this removed? I just changed my front driver's side arm and it was a piece of cake! The rear arm, however, has been giving me lots of problems. I've owned the vehicle for 6 years and I've never removed the arm.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

it should just pull off. try squirting it from both sides with some WD40 and let it soak overnight. i have a small battery terminal puller that works great on stuborn wiper arms, but i've had it forever a couldn't tell you where to buy one. a small 2-jaw puller should work if all else fails. just leave the nut on a few turns and press against it rather than the threaded stud. when you put the arm back on, put a little anti-sieze on splines.

Lots of penetrating spray and even pressure... It just slips on a splined shaft.
