Recall for spare tire lift unit

Anyone else get this recall to replace your spare lift assembly "due to corosion of the cable" I know this is a common problem I just got it in the mail today.
p.s I ve been away for a few days so I hope somone didnt post this already.

I just received my notice yesterday.
Why do recalls always get issued after I fix the problem. Last summer I lost my tire due to that DA"#*&%M cable, replacement unit cost me $25 (part only)and I replaced it in 10 min. Now they issue a recall, WHERE IS MY RECEIP... Hope I can find it

I took mine into the dealer a couple weeks ago to fix the hood that wouldn't open and they replaced the hangar then without a notice. They also replaced my spare, which they already replaced with the Firestone recall, just becasue they had a Michelin in the shop to match the other four! Total bill cost including fixing the hood....0$. Ya gotta like that!

Is this for all 94s ? Do I need to call the dealer?

According to the thread started by Sharonis3, her recall stated it was for 91-94 Explorers bought or operating in Canada. Check the thread for exact wording, it's in this forum. I guess for our American friends the best advice would be to call your dealer and check into this.
