I've been dealing with an intermittent "sticking pad" problem on my 2002 ever since I replaced my rotors and pads with EBC performance parts.

The left front wheel will be fine until I have braked heavily a few times and then it begins to stick.

The rim will get hot but when it cools down the wheel will spin freely.

  1. checked the pins twice, lubed and free
  2. brake fluid changed when pads and rotors replaced
  3. front hoses changed in case they had collapsed

I spoke with a mechanic how tells me if it were the Master Cylinder or ABS it would be all wheels, not just the one, he says change the caliper.

Recommendations for a decent aftermarket caliper? I think someone here once recommended the NAPA semi loaded Eclipse calipers, around $58 per.

Anything else I should be looking at?

thanks,

Rob

IMO, no better choice for value than NAPA Total Eclipse semi loaded calipers. Most remans are rebuilt by Cardone anyway, even NAPA's warranty pdf say's that. Good local pricing with a lifetime warranty without core return shipping costs and black powder
coating made them a no brainer for me. Should you decide to buy NAPA, remember to order on line for an extra 10% off. GL

+4!

I just put four of those on my '99 Mounty. The black powder coating makes them look real nice. At 260,000 miles I thought she deserved something pretty.

One thing I've learned over the years, is that when NAPA sells a 'unique' and more expensive item, it's because it's better.

I don't want my family going down the road on discount parts.

I've used the eclipse calipers as well.

Sounds like a consensus, will order tonight.

Thanks to all and SWSHAWAII, I looked back and you were the one who originally told me about them in an earlier thread, thanks you.
