I've got a '92 XL that I had a Pioneer cd deck installed by the wonderous people at best buy. Nothing fancy just a cd player.

I then purchased and installed a bulldog remote starter from walmart. I was quite happy with how it was working actually and for $40 it was even better!

So then some thugs smashed my window and stole my stereo =/ They were nice enough not to ruin the dash or anything and even unclipped the harness. The remote starter still worked though so I was alright with it since insurance was paying 100% for the new stereo.

So back to best buy I went and got an even fancier shmancier mp3 playing cd player. Its great, works wonderfully. However suddenly my remote starter isn't working anymore =/ I pulled the stereo to check connections and stuff and its just plugged into the harness just like the old one.

So the question is, is it possible that the stereo is powering different lines so that the remote starter is no longer hooked up correctly? It seems like an oddball thing to happen but maybe? Any thoughts would be appriciated!

i had a problem like this. There is a fuse on the remote started you might want to check. while your at it check the relays too. also my battery for the remote died within a month of having my remote starter.

thanks for the tips... checked one of the fuses and itw as bad. thought i had it fixed then but was very disappointed to see it was not. ran out and got a new battery for the remote and that was it!

strange though, the old battery had enough power to make the led on the remote go on like it was working but apparently not enough to make the remote send the signal to the unit in the car. so anyone else that has a bulldog starter, don't trust the light on the remote! for $1.79 get a new battery and see if that fixes it before trying anything tricky!

thanks again for the tips, nice to have the remote starter back in action now that ski season is only two weeks away!!
