I wanted to know if anybody knows how to get the lever assembly out of case because i need to put it on a differnt trans.I saw what looked like a roll pin in case and is this what holds it in after you have taken the nut off inside on the lever shaft.Any tips would help.
Thanks Wade

That roll pin is a ***** to get out. Try this. Try smacking it sideways with punch and hammer in all directions. Then wiggle the shift lever in and out until you are certain there is no pressure on the pin. Then try and work the pin up out of the case using a couple of screwdrivers on each side of the pin. It is just so hard to get a bite on that pin. A good strong rare earth magnet may do it too if you have it loose enough. I have one that is so strong you won't believe it. But just keep trying to loosen it and pull it up. It should eventually come for you.

By the way, the edge inside the trans on the lever can get a ridge on it. Take something and deburr that edge prior to trying to pull the shaft.

Welcome to this forum! Glacier991 has a picture which has 2 screwdrivers putting pressure on both sides of the pin. Somebody used a body work stud gun from Harbor Freight in another thread. I once broke a case trying to get this pin out so be very careful. I like to replace the pin with a nail that is easy to grab. I put the nail into it, and bend part of it down into the channel.
