Removing the dash vent left of steering wheel

Does anyone know how to remove this vent? Looks like there are 4 plastic tabs holding it in place, but can't find any info on removing this out of the dash. Assuming you have to reach up under the dash to press the clips in to release the vent?
Don't know how else you would do it. Tabs appear to be on top and bottom of the vent see attached.

Looks like you could release one set at a time with a skinny trim removal tool.

I don't recall this ever being discussed before so there is no thread/post to refer you to. Perhaps someone has done it and not posted about it.
