My 2004 Ford Explorer's Harmonic balance/cam shaft pully separated on a trip recently and caused the serpentine belt to move off the pully and to cut into the rubber hose portion of one of my A/C lines. It is winter so I am in not that big of a hury to fix the line but I can't even find that a/c line online. It is the line from the evaporator to the back of the compressor. It dips down under the engine near the cam shaft pully and is about 6" of rubber there where it is closest to the pully. That is the section that got cutt. Anyway, since I can't even find that part..and I am sure if i do it won't be cheap, I am wondering if I can do a simple repair. Not sure if the pressure is high or low there. I was thinking of gluing the cutt closed with with simple rubber cement and then reinforcing it with some kind of wrap. Any ideals? Or does anyone have a part number for that replacement hose. Thanks
