I've replaced my alternator and battery and now it runs good but when I come to a stop it is stalling, I put it in park and she fires right back up, I thought as the throttle, it seemed to be sticking so that might be the problem, so lubed the cable where it goes into the body seemed better drove and at a stop it stalled again, Does ANYONE have any suggestions ??? ALso please note that my truck sat for 7 months as the water pump went out and once that and hoses were fixed the alternator went out...Thanks anyone that replies to this...

Sounds like the Idle Air Control valve. Also you might want to clean the throttle body, especially if throttle sticking. I know Ford has a tag on the throttle body( at least mine does) that says not to clean it. But have you looked behind the throttle plate? Mine was so gunked up, there was no choice but to clean it. Does the engine idle OK after starting it, with the A/C on? If so, may be something besides the IAC. Could have a vacuum leak.

The A/C is non operational right now so not sure... But yes sitting it idles perfectly its when I come to a stop it stalls but as said fires right back up...Thx for replying...any more suggestions appreciated...

The a/c is non operational at this time, the idle is perfect it just stalls at stopsand not all stops...thx anymore suggestions will be appreciated...thx again

I'm also thinking IAC valve.

Are there any trouble codes/check engine light? If so, get the codes read and post up what they are. Don't let them sell you parts when you do it, if you have it done at a parts store.

You can try to clean the IAC, but seems like more often than not, cleaning no longer fixes the issues...

If you end up replacing it, I'd suggest the Motorcraft through rockauto.com, as the parts houses versions (Duralast, etc) don't seem to last very long after installation.

The check engine light does not come on even when it starts to stall only after it has died, I had a friend tell me possibly the throttle sensor, Im hoping as this is very inexpensive to replace... thx any more suggestions pls let me know...

A little off topic, but when was the last time you changed plugs and wires (basically did a tune up)? Also check your air filter element. If a vehicle sits for a while sometimes mice will fill up the air cleaner with seeds and junk. I've seen it happen more than once. Are you still running on 7 mth old gas? Some fresh fuel and some fuel system cleaner couldn't hurt. I don't see why your stalling problem would have anything to do with your alternator or battery. IAC maybe, MAF sensor maybe...

A tune up was done last summer, I know that there were no mice where my vehicle was being stored, new fuel was added as well as heat to the tank when the water pump (which was the first work completed 1 1/2 mo ago) was installed. The reason I am asking about it now after the alternator has been replaced is that it was not happening before the replacement of the alternator and battery last weekend... Of course I do understand that this is something that could have been getting ready to go out for sometime but its been fine for the last few weeks and then boom right after the replacement last weekend... Thx so much for your input though and any other suggestions are always appreciated...
