I'm replacing my 06 explorer stock sub with a RF Punch Stage 2 8" sub but when I pulled the factory sub today it is fed by 4 wires and says "60W + 60W" on the back. How do I wire this with a traditional RF sub that has 2 wires? Everything has to be difficult.

I've PM'd bentley as he did the same upgrade and if he replies to my PM, I'll post it here so others can benefit.

Your factory sub is a dual voice coil, your replacement is not. Find the impendence of the factory and of the RF and someone will tell you hot to wire it.

Speaker is stamped 1.2ohm + 1.2 ohm.

Sorry, my bad. New one is a RF Punch P2 4 Ohm. (single voice coil)

Bumping a really old thread. I just bought a dual coil sub and am trying to figure out how to wire it to the stock wiring. Will be replacing the stock amp with an aftermarket mono amp.
