OK here goes,
I am looking at a 96 Eddie Bauer Edition Ford Explorer 4x4 w/tow package (I saw the hitch on the back) I am not sure of the engine but it runs great. However for the big problem.... The transmission slips. I started it and it started right up. I put it into gear and it goes very slow. It took a while to shift so I put it in 2nd (it is an automatic) and it went into 2nd. I then put it into D and it shifted into 3rd. I did not go fast enough to get into 4th. It needs to be detailed (smells like an ash tray) and a few other minor things (headlight, tail light assembly etc) The power windows work if you press on the fuse panel (kind of weird). Drivers seat does not go forward all the way. owner thinks something is blocking it. I did not check it out enough to verify.
And now for the price they are asking? $150.00. Should I run away or buy it and get the trans rebuilt?
