I have a 96 Ford Explorer with Automatic Ride Control Fitted.

I have an override switch in the jack compartment to turn off ride control when jacking or towing the vehicle.

The owners manual talks of a manual override switch which will allow me increase the height of the vehicle without going into low range. Can anyone please advise how / where this switch is fitted.

Thank Craig.

Welcome Craig!

The only way I know how to put it in 4WD low height mode is to switch to 4WD low, wait a few minutes for the shocks to pump up, and then turn off the air-ride system with the over-ride switch in the jack compartment. Then select a different 4WD mode and it will stay at that 2 inches higher mode until you turn the air-ride system back on, or the shocks deflate on their own if their leaky like mine were.
