2003 Eddie Bauer
I live in the city with it's potholes and crappy roads. Today I was driving and noticed that the truck was running very rough - it's a 2003 Eddie Bauer 4X4. I got out and noticed that entire truck was about 6 inches lower than usual. I find it hard to believe that all 4 shocks blew out at the same time. There is no message on the dash. Any ideas???

Shocks have nothing to do with ride height, springs do. Shocks only dampen spring rebound (so you truck/car does not bounce up and down constantly).

A six inch drop on all four corners simultaneously is not reasonably plausible. Six inches would result in your tires being well up into the fender wells.

Have you made ay suspension mods?

Please provide more data, lots of great folks on this site can help.

I have not made any mods whatsoever. The truck is riding extremely rough....every bump feels like a ran over a dead body. Is there something programmed in the computer that can adjust the height of the suspension? It looks like all 4 wheels are further up in the wheel well.

I'll bump you up until some of the suspension pros check in.

Give us the specs on your truck to help narrow it down.

One thing to check on the quick and dirty - some have had 3rd generation rear coil springs break (fracture); however, this should not 'drop' the Ex more than one spring coil height, and I am aware of no front coil springs breaking.

Any chance of a single significant load or shock event? Not the same as rough roads (lots of folks here do lots of spirited off-roading). Maybe something like having a load greater than capacity and going over a curb?

Is there anything else unusual?
