I just picked up my 01 Sport, but I hate the factory 5 spoke rims that come on them. I was looking at a set of Pro Comp 15X8's in polished aluminum or the Pro Comp steelies in black. My problem is our snowy/salty winters here north of the border. I am going to run whatever I buy year round, so what choice of rim will hold up the best?

Anyone out there running these types of rims in snowy climates year round? Any rust/pitting issues?

The obvious choice would be an aluminum alloy rim since rust doesn't effect them much and they cut down on weight. I had some steelies on my f150 and those things were rusted. A steel brush couldn't clean them up like new. But i bought the truck like that and dont know the back history on it. But the wisconsin salt sure didnt help them.

I love the polished aluminum, but I am just scared that they will be all pitted and faded before next summer... How does everyone else protect the finish when they drive them in the snow?
