i was changing my oil and decided to rotate my tires. I couldnt remove the passenger side rear tire. After i took all the lug nuts off the wheel was stuck on there. any tips to getting it off? i tired a ruber mallet, even kicking it but it wouldn budge. is there a tool i can screw on the hub to pop the wheel off?

Put the lug nuts on but leave them loose. Slowly lower the tire back to the ground and let the weight of the truck help loosen the rim from the rear hub. Be ready to lift the axle back up when the wheel comes loose and be careful not to put the full weight of the truck on the rear studs - you just want to pop the wheel loose.

or if that doesnt work...ratched strap from the tire to a pole or fence post near ur rig then ratchet away =0 that sould fix it...did u try beating on it from the inside of the tire?

there is a spray penetrationg lube on the hub surfaces and into the lug nut holes on the studs... usually helps loosen them up a bit..... there is a technique we use at work that involve using our body power, but its hard to describe.... you palm one side of the tire sidewall and pull on the opposing side form the rear

BFH!!!

Big F Hammer :D

Did u forget that 6th lug in the back?

J/k, id just use a BFH like everyone else says

when this happens at work I just kick the back of the rim with my heel. Kinda tough to do with the truck on the ground. BFH time indeed

SLAM IT WITH A HAMMER MAN ON THE TIRE

forget lowering the trucks on it and risking damage and th lube might get all over your rear disk and pads I say hit It with a hammer and when it's off scrape down all the mud and rust on the hub so it won't happen again.

I've always opted for the rubber mallet....just incase i miss the tire and hit the rim...lol

at work we usually leave lugnut on loose and then hit the backside of the rim with a BFH but it has rubber side and a metal side, obviously on aluminum rims your gonna wanna use the rubber side,
also if the rim is really being a *****, squirt some lubricant through the rim openings and let it soak for a few minutes and then hit it again,

it works really good if you hit the rim on the outside at the top and then hit it at the bottom, and just keep going back and forth until she loosens, this works good too

I agree with hitting on oposites. But why not just keep spinning the wheel and hitting the same spot? You will find this easier

I usually lay on my back and start using my feet to kick the tire. One foot on either side kicking opposite of each other so it tries to rock the tire back and forth.

I use bearing grease on the contact points when reinstalling. Aluminum and Steel do not like each other.

I hope you got them off.

haha don't hit the tire, hit the rim,

at work i was trying to get a rim off and after i swung the hammer a few times and lost my footing and i hit the tire, friggin' hammer bounced off and hit me in the knee at pretty good force!
