I was thinking about going to bestbuy and having them install 2 rockford fosgate 10's and a rockford fosgate amp for about $430 (including the wire kit and all installation) Does anybody know if this is a good deal and does it sound good? Would do it myself but i am away at college and dont have the time

Well, I did some research, and here:

You didn't specify what model subs or amp, so I guessed.

RF Punch HE 10" 2 subs $145 shipped -200wrms each
RF Punch HE2 10" 2 subs $180 shipped -400wrms each

RF Amp capable of 400-800wrms total-$200-300.

I don't see how they're doing this, they much be crapping out on the amp or something, get more details.

I'm getting ready to put a system in my friends car that consists of 2 10" Sony Xplod's, I think they handle 250 RMS, a Kenwood 4 channel amp that puts out 75 RMS a channel, and the wiring kit for $200. Now the subs and amp are all used, but in perfect working order. So for 1/2 the price, my friend is getting about the same equipment. I would recommend installing yourself. If you don't know how, I'm sure you could find enough info on this site to help you out and you would save some money doing it. I would find out exactly what subs and amp you are getting and we could give you a better responce, you just might be getting a sweet deal.

Might be the package they're advertising right now:

[2] 10" Rockford Fosgate 400-watt subs
[1] Box
[1] Rockford Fosgate 150-watt amp

Total for the package is 249.99

You can upgrade the subs and the box to 12"s for 279.99

I'm also wondering is this okay? I know audio basics, just mostly helping on installs with my bro. Price would be saying $110 if you bought it all separate at Best Buy.
Basically, I'm asking how this will sound being pushed by a Sony Xplod head.

Yeah, that is the package

Well, looks like I was right on my guess with the amp. 150 watts total RMS is 75 watts per sub. That is nothing. You'd make more thump hitting the seat with your hand. 75 watts RMS is just adequate for a door speaker, much less a sub. Best Buy blows, buy from thezeb.com or a similar retailer and install it yourself, unless you feel like getting bent over....

thezeb.com has buy one get one free on RF subs..... these prices are unbelievable..... thanks guys
