Well I have a 2005 4.6 with 80k miles on it and here the past week I've notice that it has developed a rough idle andrhe car shakes a little. When idling under 1000 rpm it can drop down to 500 at times. Soooo what do you think could be wrong lol

dude i have the same fear. mine idles at 500 and it dips below and vibrates...almost stalling out. i do need to mention though that i have a 4.0.

check your ignition coils. Mine has a slightly rough idle at around 1000 rpm

Check for any vacuum leaks, pcv valve, plugs, clean MAF and o2 sensors. If you havent changed your fuel filter check that too...

and coils as zerodevil stated previously

thanks guys .i know yersterday i called for and they said that they would charge 90 for a dyagnostic test. so i went to advance auto. the hooked it up and said it was a bad egr flow and miss fire in the #8 cylinder. who knows but i got to get it fixed. my service engine soon light is seriously flashing its ass off and ford said to not drive it

The same exact thing happened to me I was getting a misfire on cylinder 1 and 5 on my V6 turned out to be the wires the ends were completely disentegrated. I changed the Plugs and Wires and the engine has come alive no more shakes and throttle response is dead on the truck feels like its brand new again.
