Rubbing sound while accelerating from stop

I have the same issue. It's the first initial acceleration, especially with turning to the right. Not a healthy sound.

I
I get this strange rubbing sound coming from the front of my car after accelerating from a stop. Oddly, it only happens after the car has been stopped for a while [more then 5 minutes] and only happens the first time I accelerate. I can feel an abnormal vibration when I hear the rub sound.

It seems to me that this thing started happening to me after I told my dealership that I heard a clicking noise when reversing. According to the service invoice they said, "DIAGNOSTIC TEST, R & R FRONT AXLE AND LUBRICATE SHAFTS, RETEST, ALL OK". Does this mean they completely removed the front axle? Could improperly re installing it cause this sound? Anyone in the same boat? I asked the dealer about the sound and they can reproduce it. The problem is that they can't reproduce it frequently enough to be useful.....
I know it’s been a few years but I have the same issue on my 2007 XLT 2WD. Did you ever figure out the issue?

I have the sound too. And also only notice it when i first pull away after being parked. Haven't figured out what it is yet!
I have the same issue did you ever find out what it is?

I would expect that the 5th generation Explorer is quite different than your 2007. For one thing, it is a unibody. Have you checked out this forum? Stock 2006 -2010 Explorers
