So i'm thinking about running my 4.0 at an 11:1 compression ratio after its rebuilt, wondering what your input was on this? Keep in mind the engine is a DD but does hit the dirt often, and when complete will have a comp cams 410 cam, intake, exhaust, and hopefully ported and polished heads.

Ive read that im gonna have to run the highest octane i could find, but i was just wondering what you guys though about this. Also if doug904 sees this, what do you think you could do as far as a computer tune for this as i plan on getting one of those too, thanks :)

108 octane is what you will have to run on the regular to get it to run RIGHT. 10:1 you can still run off of 93.

I wouldnt do it, unless it was a trailer truck that only saw the pavement when it was at the track =)

10:1 is highest you need, i mean with all the mods you want, you will be pumpin out around 190 hp already (with 410 cam and ported heads). Upping the compression is going to push you up and over 200. one guy on RPS said 10:1 compression adds almost 20 hp. Im not sure on the exact number, because i havent finished my build yet. hehehe cant wait though!
