lately i have been finding it hard to justify modding my EX because i just dont know how long it will last me after i reached the 200,000mile mark i have not been willing to invest as much into it. i dont have full coverage (Liability) so if i was in an accident almost every mod would have been a waste of money. and i feel the engine gradually ping more since changing over to 93 octane. if i was to invest in more horsepower would it eventually hurt the engine and tranny (211000miles). sorry for the spelling any one else running into this problem

Well here is my testamony.
Prior to my Ex, I spent two years working on a 84 S-10 Blazer. I cut out all the rust, put on a cowl induction hood, a roll pan. Shaved the hatch hardware, roof rack, upper body lines, and I extended the rear of the quarters to make it look lower.
$1,000.00 in sound, $1,500.00 in wheels and tires.
New headliner, new carpet, new seat covers.
Painted it my own color, blue base, then a thin coat of black the blue pearl mixed in with the clear, then five coats of straight clear.
long story short. After a year I spun a rod in the 94k mile 2.8 V6.
I could not bear to dump any more into it.
I sold it for way too little amount of money.

The lesson I learned, mod something reliable and make sure those mods don't conteract the relaiblity.

Either that or have a daily driver that you leave alone, and a project vehicel that you are not dependant on.

thanks for the advise i think i might put in a new exhaust and that will be it. anything over 200 dollars would not be worth it

i think that a tune up will provide the most power increase belive it or not, not to mention the ability to run regular gas again

Oil
airfilter
fuel filter
plugs
wires clean iac, maf, throttle body
change transmission, transfercase fluid
run lots of seafoam before the new o2 sensors i reccomend 2 complete bottles

the only time i will have to do this would be spring break. so it will be a while. are the o2 sensors hard to install and where is the fuel filter located and do i have to do any thing before changing the fuel filter and such
